Metro farm holding more online sales of fresh chicken this month

Hundreds line up for chicken sale in DeKalb County

After a popular demand and success in the metro area, a local chicken farm is holding more online sales to people in the Atlanta marketplace.

Wayne Farms partnered with online meat retailer The Savory Butcher to sell sealed 40-pound cases of fresh, boneless, skinless chicken breasts, thighs or tenders.

“During these challenging times, we hope these community sales make it a little easier for our Atlanta area neighbors to purchase healthy chicken at affordable prices in order to feed their families,” said Clint Rivers, President and CEO of Wayne Farms.

Today’s sale in Cobb County is already sold out with pick up set for this morning at Old Time Pottery in Marietta. However, an online sale is now open for communities in Clayton County.

You will order the chicken online, and pickup will take place June 13 Southlake Mall in Morrow.

All of the chicken is inspected and certified by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and the cases range right now from $40 to $68.

When you order the meat online, buyers will have to specify a pickup time, and proof of purchase will be required at pickup.

Wayne Farms said there will be no onsite sales to ensure there will be enough chicken on hand to meet demand and to adhere to social distancing requirements.
