• Pair robs massage parlor, shoot at officers

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga.,None - Two robbers got away from police after robbing a massaging parlor and shooting at officers Tuesday night, according to Duluth police.

The incident happened at Tong Tong China Massage on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard in Duluth. Police were called to the scene sometime before 11 p.m.

“Somebody called in an armed robbery in progress,” Duluth police Maj. Don Woodruff told Channel 2 Action News.

As the first responding officer arrived, two people were running down the steps away from the business, Woodruff said. He said once they reached the ground level, shots rang out, followed by more shots when a second police unit arrived.

“As soon as they parked, the suspects came around and saw the police car and immediately engaged in gunfire. The officer returned fire,” Woodruff said.

The officer’s patrol car and the parking lot were riddled with bullets. Woodruff said the robbers took off toward Johns Creek, hitting several cars on their way out. Police chased the robbers, but they got away.

“All the cars are equipped with video cameras, so we’ll have to go back and go through the video and see what we have there,” Woodruff said.

Police said they are looking for a man and a woman. The officers involved in the shootout are OK.
