• Man, woman found dead inside Lawrenceville home


    GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. - Gwinnett police are investigating a possible murder-suicide at a home in unincorporated Lawrenceville.

    Officers found a dead man and a dead woman inside the home on Resthaven Drive just before 2 p.m.

    News Chopper 2 flew over the scene, where multiple police cars were see outside the residence.

    Police said an adult male answered the door and nodded his head in response to the officer's questions when they arrived. 

    "After a few seconds, the male produced a handgun and committed suicide.  The male did not attempt to engage the officer before shooting himself," said Gwinnett Police Cpl. Jake Smith.

    Police said after a few seconds, the man produced a handgun and committed suicide.

    Police soon discovered the woman inside the home. She died of an apparent gunshot wound.

    "At this time detectives believe the deceased persons were married and living together in the home," said Smith.

    The case is under investigation.
