Man with disability attacked by four teens who tried to steal his car

The man said similar things have happened to other people with disabilities he knows.

CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — This is one of those stories that makes you shake your head: A disturbing video shows four teens attacking a man with a disability.

Chris Mancle told Channel 2’s Tom Jones he had to deal with two sets of teens; two punching him and two more trying to steal his car.

Mancle is disabled, but he still managed to fight them off.

“I didn't know I was going to come up here and have to fight for my doggone life with some teenagers,” Mancle said.

It all happened at the Z Food Mart in Forest Park on Jan. 30 around 5 p.m.

“So as I was coming out I noticed four kids,” Mancle said.

One teen snatched the items he bought and then the punches flew.

“One dude came from this way and somebody else came behind my back, started punching me in my head and everything,” he said.

Mancle described what happened as two teens attacked him. Because of his disability, he knew he was over-matched.

“I been having to fight my whole life with arthrogryposis, born with a disability,” he said.

While that was going on, two other teens, one a girl, hopped in his car and tried to steal it.

His attackers ran away, so he then focused on the car thieves.

“I snatched the door open like this, ‘Y’all get the out my car before I kill y’all,’” Mancle said.

The store owner called police and the teens scattered.

“I just thank God that I’m still here,” Mancle said.

Police got there quickly and arrested one teen not far away.

The three others remain on the run. Mancle wants them off the streets.

“At that age y’all messing up y’all lives. Y'all throwing y’all lives away for something senseless,” he said.

Mancle said he wasn't hurt. He said he has other disabled friends who've been attacked and wants the violence to stop.

If anyone recognizes the teens in the video, they are asked to contact Forest Park police.
