• Man shot 3 times near Pryor St. dies


    ATLANTA - A man in his mid-20s died after being shot three times near Pryor Street in southwest Atlanta.

    Atlanta police say the shooting happened at Crumley and Cooper streets. The unidentified victim was in serious condition when emergency workers transported him to Grady Memorial Hospital. He died shortly after.

    Investigators said the victim tried to get help from someone on another street around 2:30 p.m.

    “He was struck multiple times and ran several blocks to Pryor Street, where he collapsed,” said Sgt. Greg Lyon with Atlanta police. “He saw someone on the porch and ran to them for aid.”

    Police blocked off one block of Pryor Street while gathering evidence at the scene. News Chopper 2 flew over a nearby house surrounded by crime scene tape.

    Investigators had not identified a suspect or a motive in the killing, police said. It was not known if the victim lived in the area.

    So far, police have not made any arrests.
