Man injured in early-morning home invasion

ATLANTA — A man was shot or stabbed during a home invasion early Monday morning in Southeast Atlanta.

Police said a 31-year-old man was in his home on Linda Lane when several people kicked in his front door around 4 a.m.

After an altercation, the man was shot or stabbed several times in the torso, police said. The man ran into his bathroom, jumped out the window and ran to a neighbor's house for help, police said.

Atlanta Police Department Maj. Barbara Cavender said the attack may be drug-related.

"I did find marijuana, a scale, baggies inside where he was packaging," Cavender said.

Police said the man was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in stable condition. Police said they have no leads on the identities of the intruders.
