• Man charged in machete attack

    GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga.,None - A man was arrested in connection with a machete attack on another man in Gwinnett County, police said.

    According to Gwinnett police reports, 40-year-old Joey Shelby kicked his way into the victim’s apartment, threatened to kill him and tried to strike him with the machete Sept. 17. Police said they knew each other in passing at the apartment complex. They said the victim was able to escape.

     

    On Tuesday, Shelby was arrested at a warehouse where he worked on Breckinridge Boulevard. Shelby, of Norcross, was charged with aggravated assault, burglary, battery and criminal damage to property.
