ATLANTA — Have weekend plans? Severe Weather Team 2 meteorologist Brad Nitz said you shouldn't cancel them, but to grab an umbrella.
Severe Weather Team 2 has the timing of rain in your neighborhood, on Channel 2 Action News at 5 p.m.
Nitz said showers and storms are developing early Friday evening and they are slow-moving, which means some people could see heavy rain in a few spots.
Once the sun goes down, heavy showers should lessen and become more isolated into the night. This is good news for Atlanta Braves fans attending the 7:35 p.m. game against the Marlins at SunTrust Park.
Scattered showers will be around this evening, but I'm keeping my plans to go to @SunTrustPark to cheer on the @Braves. I've got my tickets. Go Braves! #ChopOn pic.twitter.com/tb2suJ8Zk5

But the chance for rain sticks around for the weekend and into next week.
That's great news for allergy sufferers.
Pollen levels have plunged because of the wet weather. Friday’s count was four particles per cubic meter of air, which is far short of the season high of 5,354 recorded on April 12.
