Men found guilty in teen's beating death

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ga. — Two men charged with beating a teen to death in Douglas County have been found guilty.

Bobby Tillman was killed outside a house party in November 2010. Two men were previously convicted in his death, and the remaining two suspects were found guilty of murder Friday.

Prosecutors used dashcam video from the night of the killing to slam one of the defendants during closing arguments Thursday. Suspect Quantez Mallory told investigators he was coming from down a hill when the attack happened, but prosecutors said that wasn't the case.

Prosecutor Brian Fortner showed a video of a man near a car that night and said, "He comes running out the side and tries to walk casually as the officer passes."

Defense attorneys brought in a string of witnesses who said they didn't see Tillman hit by Mallory or his co-defendant, Horace Coleman.

"Witness after witness came in here and exonerated Quantez Mallory," Mallory's attorney Michael Pryor said. "Doesn't that cause you to waver a little bit?"

But Fortner countered, "It's not exoneration when you say you didn't see them when you clearly didn't see the whole fight."

Mallory and Coleman are set for sentencing Feb. 4.
