Inspector: Gwinnett wing restaurant scores 39 out of 100

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — A Gwinnett County restaurant scored a startling 39 out of 100 in its latest inspection.

Best Wings on Cruse Road in Lawrenceville had numerous violations, according to the inspection report obtained by Channel 2's Carol Sbarge.

The inspector found at least two dozen violations including employees handling raw beef then handling bread, 10 bags of French fries sitting out with no temperature control and two employees cutting celery bare-handed.

There was no soap at a front hand sink, which the report said is required at all times.

The business opened in 2010 and scored 88 and 82 in the inspections conducted in 2011 and 2012.

Other violations included raw eggs found in direct contact with raw chicken in a cooler.

The inspector said "a good thorough cleaning is needed throughout the facility" and that he "will conduct a follow up inspection within 10 days."

Sbarge spoke with owner Kwangkun Ji who said he is busy cleaning.

"The food tasted good. The food is no problem. It's good food. The food is no problem," Ji said.

Channel 2 Action News will monitor the next inspection of the restaurant and report the findings.
