Child ejected in crash on I-85 SB

FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — Several lanes of Interstate 85 southbound in South Fulton County were closed for hours after a crash sent a young girl to the hospital with serious injuries Friday.

The Georgia Department of Transportation said the crash took place at the Cleveland Avenue exit.

According to Georgia State Patrol, a Lincoln Navigator was traveling northbound on I-85 when the driver, Tamecka Shalandra Moore, lost control. The SUV struck the center median wall and a 2-year-old was ejected in the crash. The child, identified as Kiara Talayan Brooks, was transported to Egelston Hospital in serious condition.

Six other people in the vehicle were not injured.

Charges are pending in the crash.
