Henry officer injured in chase with burglary suspect

HENRY COUNTY, Ga. — Authorities tell Channel 2 Action News a Henry County officer was injured in a chase with a burglary suspect.

The situation happened about 11:30 a.m., police tell Channel 2 Action News.

The burglary suspect hit a tractor trailer near Highway 42 and Highway 138 east. The vehicle continued northbound on North Henry Boulevard, and could not make the turn on Flippen Road. A collision then occurred.

Police said the suspect is in custody after a short foot chase.

Police said the suspect is connected with several burglaries in the Henry County area.

The suspect vehicle, a silver Lexus, may be stolen out of Gwinnett. The burglaries are from the Millers Mill Road area.

Police said the burglary this incident is unrelated to the abduction case under investigation in Clayton County. Read more about that story here.
