On Dec. 30, the owner of Sudo Bar and Grill in Ellenwood asked Ernest Bolton, 36, to leave. Police said that as Bolton drove away, he fired a gun toward two off-duty officers who were working at the location.

Bolton was arrested in Covington on Friday, police said. A handgun believed to be the one Bolton fired at officers was also recovered.

“The mission is still the same in 2022, and that is to remove these types of individuals from our Streets,” Sheriff Reginald B. Scandrett said. “There have been a number of officer-involved shootings in the metro area. Thankfully, no one was injured in this situation.”
