4 Henry County students hospitalized after taking drug, 1 arrested, officials say

HENRY COUNTY, Ga. — Parents at a local high school want answers after four girls took a drug in their school bathroom and had to be taken to the hospital.

Channel 2's Tyisha Fernandes spoke to one Locust Grove High School student who said kids doing drugs at her school is nothing new, but she also said they're crazy to take a drug when they have no idea where it came from.

She said it happens often.

"It's honestly really bad," the student said.

Police said that on Friday morning, during first period, at least four girls bought a drug called GHB from a 15-year-old student.

Moments after they took it, they all passed out.

Officials quickly put the school on lockdown and called HazMat crews, not knowing what the girls took.

All four are recovering at local hospitals.

Students told Fernandes that the girls knew what they were taking, because they planned it the night before.
Locust Grove High School has a football game Friday night.

Officials thought about cancelling it, but they decided to go on and play the game.
