HALL COUNTY, Ga. — A man is dead after police said he fired his gun at deputies at the end of an hours long SWAT standoff in Hall County.
The situation started Saturday afternoon when the Hall County Sheriff's Office responded to a call regarding a man pointing a handgun at his neighbors in the 3100 block of Truelove Road.
Authorities identified the man as Christopher Manus.
Channel 2's Lauren Pozen was the only reporter at the scene Sunday morning, when neighbors woke up to the aftermath.
Neighbor Michael Nix told Pozen that he heard the standoff and described it like a war zone.
"Sparks flying, everything else. There's always something happening on this street. I don't know why they call it Truelove," Nix said.

Manus barricaded himself inside the house and refused to speak with deputies before SWAT arrived at the scene.
Shortly after midnight, Manus appeared in the doorway and fired shots at the deputies, who fired back and killed him.
No deputies or bystanders were injured.
As is customary with officer-involved shootings, the GBI was called to investigate.
