Deputies searching for inmate who walked away from work detail in Hall County

HALL COUNTY, Ga. — Hall County deputies are searching for an inmate who walked away from outside work detail on jail grounds Friday morning.

Deputies said David Daniel Morgan, 37, left his work assignment and got into an SUV with a driver who was waiting for him.

Deputies described the vehicle as a 2006 silver Chevy Trailblazer with a Georgia tag number RVQ8587.

Morgan had been in jail since Jan. 9 on a nonviolent theft charge.

Deputies said Morgan is 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs approximately 160 pounds. He has brown/gray hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a blue jumpsuit.

Anyone who has information on the whereabouts of Morgan or the SUV is asked to call 911.
