Kroger employee stabs co-worker at Gwinnett County store, police say

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — One grocery store employee is in the hospital and another is behind bars after a stabbing at their workplace.

Gwinnett County police tell Channel 2 Action News it happened at the Kroger on Grayson Highway in Grayson on Sunday morning.

Police said the victim, a 59-year-old female employee, was taken to Gwinnett Northside Hospital with "significant wounds."  She had stab wounds to her neck, hands and legs, police said.

Officers arrested the suspect, Akin Williams, 21, of Snellville. He is also an employee at the Kroger. He was taken to the Gwinnett County Jail on a charge of aggravated assault. He is being held without bail.

Williams has also been charged with kidnapping and false imprisonment but police have not released reasons for those charges.

Police identified the victim as 59-year-old Maria Mosher. She is still being treated at a local hospital for her injuries. The motive for the crime is still unknown.
