NORCROSS, Ga. — Gwinnett police are asking for the public’s help after a person was hit by a car.

The incident happened on Aug. 2 in Norcross.
Around 10:30 p.m. the pedestrian was hit and killed by a car between the intersection of Singleton Road and Harbins Ridge Drive.

The car sped away the scene.
Officials say they do not have an accurate description of the vehicle or the driver.

Authorities say pedestrians should exercise caution, especially at night in areas that are poorly lit to cross in crosswalks and obey pedestrian signals. It is illegal to cross anywhere other than marked crosswalks as well as extremely dangerous.
Drivers should minimize distractions when driving and be aware of pedestrians especially in areas of heavy foot traffic.
