Duluth officer shows kindness to homeless man in need of toothpaste

DULUTH, Ga. — A Duluth police officer is being recognized for a good deed he did for a homeless man he encountered.

The man explained to Officer Cavorsi that he was living out of his car and had to use baking soda to brush his teeth because he couldn’t afford toothpaste.

After their interaction, Cavorsi went to a store and purchased a toothbrush and toothpaste for the man. He drove back to where he encountered the homeless man and passed the items along to him.

A fellow officer’s body camera caught the moment on video.

A Facebook post by the Duluth Police Department read in part, “Even though this may not be the biggest story you’ve heard, our Duluth officers show empathy for many individuals we come across daily, and this is just one of the stories.”
