CAUGHT ON CAMERA: 'Grinches' vandalize Christmas light display

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — A couple of Grinches tried to steal Christmas in Gwinnett County over the weekend, and it was all caught on video.

It happened in the county’s own little slice of Whoville,  along Amberwood Drive.

"Been doing this for nine years now. We know a lot of families can't afford to roll through Lake Lanier for the price. So, have them come here,” homeowner Bryan Adamczyk said.

Adamczyk, his wife Tara, and their alter egos -- Mr. and Mrs. Claus -- have delighted thousands of holiday sightseers.

But this year, the Grinch came calling.

On Friday night during the snowstorm, a couple of guys as "cuddly as a cactus" tried to ruin it all. The family’s security camera caught them in the act.

"When we saw the video, they rolled by, stopped, got out, ran from the neighbor's over to us and started destroying stuff,” Adamczyk said.

The crime was almost comical. The security video shows one of the vandals slipping on the ice and landing on his wallet.

Bryan says they didn’t take anything, but they did some damage.

The couple hopes the vandals’ hearts will grow three sizes, and they’ll fess up.

But this won’t spoil Bryan and Tara’s holiday. They say they do this for the children, and they know that Christmas doesn’t come from a store. It means a little bit more.

"It's a great joy to know they remember this. They want to come see this. They want to walk through and get next to them. There's a big joy in your heart for it,” Adamczyk said.
