Gunmen riddle apartments with bullets; 1 injured

COLLEGE PARK, Ga. — Police found nearly two dozen bullet holes at a College Park apartment complex after gunfire erupted early Monday morning.

One person was shot in the stomach and is recovering at Grady Memorial Hospital after undergoing surgery, police said.

Police said two second-floor units at the Lakeside Reserve apartments on Lakemont Drive near Washington Road were riddled with bullets just after midnight.

Investigators found bullet holes in walls and windows and a sliding glass door shattered by bullets.

Police questioned several people who may have witnessed the shooting. Officers said they will have to rely on the public for clues.

Officers on the scene stopped short of saying the shooting had anything to do with a home invasion, but did mention that one of the gunmen had on a ski mask.

The condition of the shooting victim is not known.
