Gov. Deal honors Purple Heart recipients in ceremony

ATLANTA — It was a special day for a group of Georgia soldiers.
 
They're being recognized by the state for their bravery with the signing of a Purple Heart legislation.
 
Gov. Nathan Deal signed Senate bill 276 into law. It declares Aug. 7 as "Purple Heart Day" in Georgia.
 
The governor also recognized four Georgia soldiers in College Park during the signing.
 
They each received Purple Hearts for their service in Afghanistan.
