Georgia mother charged with murder in 7-year-old son’s death

BISHOP, Ga. — Deputies have arrested a Morgan County mother in the death of her 7-year-old son.

The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office arrested 36-year-old Alison Jones on Monday. She faces charges of murder, felony murder and aggravated assault.

Deputies said they went to investigate a domestic call off Riverwalk Road around 7:20 a.m. this morning. When they arrived, they found Jones’ son Maddox dead.

The sheriff’s office and Georgia Bureau of Investigation are still at the scene investigating.

Jones is currently being held at the Morgan County Detention Center without bond.
