Georgia football releases 2021 schedule, opens season with Clemson

Georgia football released its full schedule for the 2021 season and it starts off with a tough match up in Charlotte.

The Dawgs will kick off the season against the Clemson Tigers on Sept. 4. The following week, Georgia will return to the hedges for its home opener against University of Alabama-Birmingham on Sept. 11.

The 2020 season was shortened by the pandemic and SEC teams played a 9-game conference only schedule but the team hopes for a return to normal this fall.

The conference only schedule meant that Georgia’s annual rivalry game with Georgia Tech was canceled for the first time since the 1920s. “Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate” returns Nov. 27 at Bobby Dodd Stadium.

Here is a look at the full schedule:

  • Sept. 4: Clemson (Charlotte)
  • Sept. 11: UAB
  • Sept. 18: SOUTH CAROLINA
  • Sept. 25: at Vanderbilt
  • Oct. 2: ARKANSAS
  • Oct. 9: at Auburn
  • Oct. 16: KENTUCKY
