Fundraiser organized for families of men killed in Little 5 Points shooting

ATLANTA — People are raising money for the families of two murder victims.

Someone shot and killed the two men last week at a popular entertainment district. No arrests have been made.

Police released surveillance video of four men they want to question. Police are trying to determine whether the men are connected to the double-murder that happened last Saturday night in Little Five Points.

A silent auction was organized Saturday night at the same bar the two men left to go home from when they were killed.

"It's chilling to know that you can just turn the wrong corner and you're gone," said Sasha Couture, the manager of The Star Bar.

Couture was the organizer of the fundraiser to help the families of two men who were shot and killed near the Vortex exactly a week before.

One of those men was her longtime friend.

"It's really difficult the way I deal with things, extending myself as with the benefit," Couture said.

Local artist donated items for a raffle and silent auction, all the money will go towards Joseph Hruska and "Chay" Kelsey's families.

Police don't have a motive or suspect, but they're looking closely at for several men.

Investigators say the men shown in surveillance video robbed someone at gunpoint Saturday in the north Highland area and they want to know if the robbers are connected to the murders.

Couture is certain it's only a matter of time until her friend's killer is caught.

"People want to show off and talk about stuff, but the people they're talking to, they have conscious.' They're going to come forward," Couture said. "As people are crying over loss we really need to be sharing our memories and laughing over what we gained from these people."

Anyone with information on this shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477.
