• Firefighters: 2 injured in Lawrenceville house fire


    LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Two people were injured in an early-morning house fire.

    Gwinnett County firefighters responded to a home on Lester Road in Lawrenceville around 4:30 a.m. Thursday after receiving a call from a passerby.

    Firefighters told Channel 2’s Amanda Cook they pulled an older man and woman out of the home with serious smoke inhalation injuries. Firefighters said they were unresponsive when they were taken to Gwinnett Medical Center.

    Firefighters said the home and a vehicle in the garage were both completely destroyed.

    Lester Road is shut down at Lawrenceville Highway.
