• Fire sweeps through old Georgia Power building

ATLANTA - Investigators are trying to determine what led to a Tuesday morning fire at an abandoned building near the Five Points MARTA station.

The fire happened around 8 a.m. at the old Georgia Power building at the corner of Forsyth and Alabama streets.

Channel 2's Richard Elliot said Atlanta police have detained two people for questioning. Police may bring in a third person for questioning.

Investigators told Elliot at the scene that there was a homeless camp on the fourth floor. The Atlanta Fire Department sweeps the building twice a year to remove people since the building is abandoned. The building originally housed the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Investigators have not said if the person in custody resided in the camp.

    No injuries were reported.
