Buckeye was adopted from Shelly Raes Deep Hearted Bloodhounds in Loudonville, OH.

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office has eight other K-9 officers: One Labrador Retriever, four Belgian Malinois and three Bloodhounds. Three of the dogs specialize in narcotics and explosives.

Bloodhounds are famed for their ability to discern human scent over great distances, even days later. They are used by law enforcement all over the world to track escaped prisoners, missing people and lost pets.
