Family searches for teen who disappeared from outlet mall

GWINNETT CO., Ga,None — A Gwinnett County family is asking for the public's help in locating a 14-year-old girl.

Relatives say Galilea Magana, a freshman at Central Gwinnett High School, disappeared Dec. 19 while shopping with her mother at an outlet mall in Jackson County.

"She went to the restroom, and from then on, she never came back," said Flor Valencia, the girl's cousin, who is in town from Texas helping Galilea's mother search for clues.

The missing child's mother finds each day without word about the girl excruciating, and spent Christmas posting fliers with her picture, Channel 2 Action News report Manuel Bojorquez said.

"She's very nervous, very shocked and everything ... At night, I can hear her crying," Valencia said.

The family said Galilea was not rebellious, and they were not aware of her possibly having a boyfriend, when asked if she may have run away.

"It's a mall, anything can happen," said Valencia.  "Not just because she's a girl and could have had a boyfriend, it doesn't mean that she ran away."

Anyone with information on the girl's whereabouts is asked to call the Jackson County Sheriff's Department.
