East Point officer involved in crash

Channel 2 Action News is at the scene of a crash involving an East Point police cruiser.

Channel 2's Steve Gehlbach said two vehicles – a minivan and a police cruiser-- appear to have been involved in a crash at Irene Kidd Parkway and North Martin Street Tuesday morning.

A fire hydrant was also taken out in the crash.

A witness on the scene told Gehlbach he was robbed at gunpoint by the three men in the minivan. Police have not confirmed that information.

The condition of the officer is not known.
