• Driver slams into College Park Taco Bell

COLLEGE PARK, Ga. - A College Park Taco Bell is shut down after a van slammed into the restaurant late Wednesday night.

Employees at the location on Old National Highway said the collision sounded like a loud boom, and caused part of the building to come crumbling down.

Several employees were inside when the van jumped the curb and smashed into the building. The driver just missed crashing through the front door, hitting the wall instead.

The dine-in part of the restaurant closed five minutes before the impact.

"We just heard a big thud and we thought that someone was trying to break into the building,” an employee said.

Police said the van was backed into its parking spot, and the driver went backward instead of forward when pulling out.

The dining room is closed until engineers can inspect the damage.

Police said no one was injured. Officers have not decided if the driver will face charges.
