DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Police say a man found dead in a pond along a DeKalb County road was suspected in an armed robbery.
Investigators said Joshua Allen, 29, was riding in a pickup truck with a 61-year-old acquaintance on July 5 when he tried to rob the driver at gunpoint.
The truck crashed into a ditch next to a pond along Ward Lake Road.
Police said the men got into some sort of scuffle and the gun went off. The driver was taken to the hospital.

Witnesses called 911 and Allen ran away, police said.
Police did not find Allen until his body surfaced in a pond Wednesday.
“To now know what happened, that’s kind of scary,” resident Nina Morris said.
Police said the medical examiner will determine how Allen died.
