BROOKHAVEN, Ga. — Atlanta police say they have made an arrest in the shooting and robbery outside a country club in Brookhaven on Saturday.

Police have charged Jayden Myrick, 17, with three counts of aggravated assault, one count of aggravated battery and one count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Investigators told Channel 2's Christian Jennings they are still searching for a get-away driver.

Atlanta police say Myrick shot Christian Broder in the stomach during a robbery early Sunday morning.

It happened as Broder and his friends were leaving a wedding at the Capital City Country Club off West Brookhaven Drive. They were waiting on an Uber to arrive.

Police confirmed Friday that Myrick was arrested in College Park earlier in the day.

“We were able to bring the shooter into custody,” said Sgt. John Chafee with the Atlanta Police Department. “Our officers and investigators took this very seriously.”

Earlier this week Broder’s brother, Nicholas Broder, said the family is constantly praying. Christian Broder is a husband and father of a 9-month-old.

“It's tough. One of the toughest if not the toughest things I've ever seen,” Nicholas Broder said.

Police say they’ve recovered the car used during the crime.

Investigators said it was taken during a carjacking in Forest Park a couple days prior to the shooting.
Now the hunt is on for the second suspect.

“At this point, we’re still trying to identify the driver. We do not have him in custody, we do not have him identified positively at this point,” Chafee said.

Jail records show this was not Myrick's first arrest. He was released from the Fulton County Jail in February after being arrested in 2017 for aggravated assault and robbery.

Myrick waived his first court appearance on Saturday.

Jennings received a statement from Broder's family, saying:

"The family wants to maintain privacy and focus supporting Christian through his recovery. He has a long way to go.  We are all relieved the perpetrator was arrested and appreciative of the great work performed by law enforcement. Thank you very much for your support!"
