Officers say men opened fire on them as they chased them along Memorial Drive

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — DeKalb County police say two men they were chasing opened fire on officers as they were trying to get away.

Investigators said they were called out to the area around the 6200 block of Memorial Drive Wednesday night to look into a wanted person that was said to there.

Officers said they were in the process of setting up a perimeter when the wanted man and another saw a patrol car and started to speed away.

That’s when police said the men in the car then opened fire on the officers who were chasing them.

Investigators said they were able to get establish another perimeter around the wanted men and one of them was taken into custody. Police are still searching for the second man.

Police said the investigation is still ongoing.
