LITHONIA, Ga. — A DeKalb County family is thankful they’re alive after their house burned down on Friday.
DeKalb County fire officials say they were called to a house fire on Castle Court Way in Lithonia at 2 p.m.
By the firefighters arrived, flames had already engulfed the home and were coming out of the roof.

Luckily, the family inside the home had already escaped and no one was injured.
Crews say the fire was so intense that it damaged the siding of the house next door.

The Red Cross was called out to the help the family who lost their home.
Fire officials are still working to learn how the fire started.
