Boil water advisory now lifted for DeKalb County, including Dunwoody

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — DeKalb County has announced that the water is safe to consume in all parts of the county, including Dunwoody.

The county said Monday morning they found no E. Coli at the 10 sampling stations. However, one sample did have inconsistent readings that required officials to do more sampling and analysis.

But at 4 p.m., the boil water advisory was lifted for Dunwoody.

Officials issued the boil water advisory Saturday morning after Friday night's storms knocked out power to the treatment plant.

Since most of the advisory was lifted, students in DeKalb County did go back to school Monday.

District leaders delivered 60,000 bottles of water to all six Dunwoody schools impacted by the advisory.

Channel 2's Christian Jennings spoke with the principal at Dunwoody High School. Leaders set up several bottled water stations and covered up the water fountains.

"School nutrition had a whole list of things the managers have to follow. I know they received their own water to do whatever they need to do to keep it sanitary. With the menus they're limiting the food items to things that don't require a lot of water," principal Priscilla Cole said.
