• DeKalb Co. police investigate after man found shot in car

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. - Police say a man found shot in the backseat of a car left at a DeKalb County gas station Friday morning died at the hospital

Channel 2’s Darryn Moore spoke to officers at the Citgo Quick Mart on Columbia Drive near Interstate 20 and they do not believe the victim was shot at the business.

Police said a clerk in the store called 911 when he saw someone in the backseat who had been shot.

“The subject was shot in the abdomen area. The subject was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital where he is believed to be deceased,” Lt. Dane Cunningham with the DeKalb County Police Department said.

Investigators said they believe somebody drove the car to the gas station, but did not stick around to talk to police.

“We believe that the crime scene occurred at another location,” Cunningham said.

Police are checking security cameras outside the gas station.
