Coronavirus numbers in Georgia: 1,387 cases, 47 deaths and 438 hospitalizations

Florida man describes recovering from COVID-19

GEORGIA — There are now 1,387 confirmed coronavirus cases and 47 deaths in the state of Georgia. The Georgia Department of Public Health said 438 people have been hospitalized with the virus.

These numbers are up from 1,097 confirmed cases, 361 hospitalizations and 38 deaths reported Tuesday night.

The youngest person who has died was 33 years old. 27 victims had preexisting conditions, according to the Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency.

There have been 4,697 tests completed by commercial labs with 1,172 positive cases. Georgia Public Health Laboratory has completed 1,482 tests with 215 positive cases.

According to the state’s data, 60 percent of cases are people ages 18 to 59, 36 percent are people ages 60 or older, 3 percent are of unknown ages and 1 percent are between the ages of 0 and 17.

The confirmed cases are 48 percent men and 50 percent women, 2 percent unknown.

1 person was confirmed to have the virus and four more are being treated for symptoms at the hospital.
