• Rain, more cool temperatures on the way Monday

    Updated:

Sunday saw a major cool-off to fall-like temperatures across north Georgia. Monday will continue to be cooler than average and rain is expected move in.

Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Katie Walls said temperatures fell up to 18 degrees in metro Atlanta and north Georgia overnight Sunday. The high in metro Atlanta Sunday was just 77 degrees.

Monday's high will only reach around 80 degrees. Average temperatures for late August are usually in the upper 80s.

Walls said a cool air wedge will weaken Monday, producing clouds and rain to our west that will gradually increase throughout the day.
