• Road work prompts closing

ATLANTA - Traffic officials warn drivers to expect weekend delays on Ponce de Leon Avenue in midtown due to Atlanta Beltline construction.

A section of the road is closed as crews develop the eastside trail that stretches from Piedmont Park to the Old Fourth Ward.

Once the project is done, the Beltline will circle downtown and link 45 Atlanta neighborhoods with parks and a railroad corridor, officials said.

Ponce de Leon is slated to reopen in time for rush-hour Monday at 5 a.m.
