Cobb County meeting over police review gets heated

COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Cobb County Chairman Tim Lee turned discussion on a call for a review of the Police Department into an attack on one of its primary critics, Commissioner Lisa Cupid.

"I am tired of the public accusations and assertions about our Police Department," Lee said.

Lee went on to say Cupid is not being constructive in finding solutions to what she believes to be wrong with the department.

As another commissioner tried to cut off Cupid, the meeting dissolved into a shouting match between citizens.

Cupid left the meeting, but collapsed just outside the meeting room.

The meeting was in recess as until paramedics finished working on Cupid.

When the meeting resumed, Lee heard from citizens who were unhappy about his behavior in the meeting.

Lee apologized for the tone he used in the meeting.

The proposal to review the Cobb County Police Department passed.
