COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Homeowners in Cobb County who need mortgage assistance due to the pandemic are eligible for money.
The Cobb County Board of Commissioners approved $4.8 million to provide mortgage assistance and homeowner counseling. The funding will come out of the $132 million allocated to the county through the CARES Act.

“Over 600 people have applied so far,” said program developer Earnest Davis. “If we look back at 2008 and 2009, that was such a huge wave of foreclosures following that crisis. That’s what we want to mitigate. We want to make sure homeowners have a place to turn.”
Davis told Channel 2 Cobb County Bureau Chief Chris Jose homeowners who had a COVID-19 related involuntary financial hardship, medical hardship or death of a spouse are eligible for up to $4,800 of mortgage payment assistance.
Applications are being accepted at CobbHomeSaver.org.
