• Police: Shooter fired from apartment, killing driver

    CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. - Police are investigating a shooting in Riverdale that left one person dead overnight.

    According to police, a gunman at the exit of the Noble Oaks/Twelve Oaks apartments fired shots at a moving vehicle on Roy Huie Drive. One or more gunshots hit the driver, causing his car to leave the road, flip and hit a tree.

    The adult male driver in the vehicle died, police said.

     

     

    A neighbor told Channel 2's Steve Gehlbach he heard about eight to 10 gunshots around 12:30 a.m., immediately followed by the sound of the car crashing.

    The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is on the scene of the crash.

    Police have not released the identity of the victim but said they have notified his family.
