2 arrested following gunfire at gas station, chase through Fayette County

FAYETTE COUNTY, Ga. — Gunfire at a Clayton County gas station ultimately led to a manhunt in a Fayette County neighborhood on Tuesday.

Investigators said Clayton County police were called out to a BP gas station near the intersection of Tara Boulevard and McDonough Road around 4:15 p.m. for reports of multiple gunshots being heard from the gas station.

Witnesses told police that a man was shooting at someone at the gas station.

When police got to the gas station, an officer said the shooter got into a Hyundai Sonata with another person and sped away.

Police chased the car into Fayette County, but they stopped once they lost sight of the car.

Clayton County officers then joined investigators from Fayette County to search for the car. They found it a short time later and arrested the suspected gunman, Remon Gosier.

Witnesses said they saw another two suspects leave in a black car.

Those suspects were eventually arrested after a search of a nearby neighborhood. Neighbors were told to stay in their homes Tuesday as police searched for the suspect.

Both men were arrested, and police said they recovered the gun used in the incident at the gas station.

Clayton County police said that while interviewing the suspects, they learned that two cars were hit with bullets during the shooting by Gosier. One of those cars had an 11-year-old inside.

Gosier has been charged with aggravated assault, criminal damage to property, possession of a weapon during commission of a crime and reckless conduct.

Harvey Houston, who was also arrested, has been charged with multiple traffic charges for fleeing, aggravated assault and an outstanding warrant for aggravated assault in another case.
