• Driver fleeing police causes rollover crash

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. - One burglary suspect is in custody after leading officers on a chase that ended with a fiery crash involving two vehicles near Church Street and Erskine Road in Clarkston.

Channel 2's Ryan Young obtained cellphone video of a DeKalb police officer extinguishing fire on one of the SUVs that flipped over after the burglary suspect tried to get away from police.

"Initially, the officers were following the suspect, trying to see where he was going. At this point, they believe the suspect noticed them and he then fled away at a high rate of speed," said DeKalb County Police spokeswoman Mekka Parish.

After all of the damage to the two SUVs, no one was seriously hurt.

Police found stolen merchandise inside the suspect's SUV.
