Police: Man wanted for murdering woman in DeKalb committed suicide

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Police say the man wanted for shooting and killing the mother of his children in DeKalb County was found dead in an Atlanta apartment.

Atlanta police said a man called to report a suicide late Sunday night at an apartment on Center Street in northwest Atlanta.

Cliff Green told police he was watching football with the man and the man's girlfriend around 11 p.m. Sunday. Green said the man asked his girlfriend if she loved him, and when she said "yes," he pulled out a gun and shot himself in the head.

Atlanta police said they were notified by DeKalb County police that the suicide victim was wanted in connection to a shooting on Vinings Ridge Terrace earlier in the night.

Officers found Kristy Robinson, 35, dead inside the home. Her two children were upstairs at the time of the shooting. Atlanta police said the suicide victim is the father of Robinson's children.

"There were two children in the residence during the incident. They were not eyewitnesses, but they were ear witnesses and they are fine," Lt. Mark Lavigne of the DeKalb County Police Department said.
