GORDON COUNTY, GA. — Authorities are investigating after a child was hit by a vehicle near a school in Gordon County.
According to county officials, the child was hit on private property around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday near Tolbert Elementary School.
Emergency personnel responded to the scene and the child was taken by air ambulance to Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga. The child's condition was not released.
Authorities say they are treating the incident as an accident and no charges have been filed.
County officials say no students were involved in the accident.
The investigation is ongoing.
