• Chemical reaction reported at Dalton plant

    DALTON, Ga. - Dalton police say officers and fire crews have been called to a chemical reaction at a plant.

    The incident occurred at MFG Chemical Kimberly Park Drive. Police initially said it was a chemical explosion, but later identified the incident as a chemical reaction.

    Police said the chemical is not poisonous, but is an irritant.

    Nearby residents were advised to stay inside.

    One person at the plant was decontaminated.
