• Car slams into convenience store, leaves scene


    CLARKSTON, Ga.,None - Police are searching for the driver of a car that crashed into a convenience store and then sped off.

    The crash happened at the Citgo Foodmart on Brockett Road in Clarkston.

    The clerk at the store said he was stocking the cooler overnight when he heard a loud noise. Then, he noticed a car inside the store.

    The clerk said he tried to stop the car, but the man behind the wheel put it in reverse and took off.

    The car was described as being a brown early model car, possible a Chevy.

    The car smashed into a shelf filled with candy, chips and auto parts.

    The clerk said the car did not have a license plate.
