Car driver airlifted following crash with school bus

CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — A woman was seriously injured in a crash involving a school bus in Clayton County.

The Clayton County Police Department said there were 12 students on the bus on their way to Rex Middle School. One was taken by ambulance to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston. Three others were taken to the hospital by their parents. The bus driver suffered minor injuries.

Police said a driver lost control of her car on Tara Road, crossed over the median and slid sideways in font of the bus. The impact of the collision flipped the car. The car driver was airlifted to Atlanta Medical Center.

The road was closed for part of the morning on Thursday.
